Esa UI

Esa UI

This screenshot is from a UBRS run. Esa has her primary attack buttons on the left, shields in the middle, and healing on the right. Blessings are on the left, using option-#. As you can see, I'm having trouble managing seals at the moment. I don't lock my hotkeys, because I will move things around quite frequently. You might notice in the shot, I've accidentally displaced Blessing of Freedom, since it's supposed to be next to Blessing of Sacrifice. Blessings go in order from on-myself, to second in the party, then third and so on. Seals will change depending on the situation. When we got into the next room, Seal of Wisdom and Light went on the primary attack buttons, displacing Fury and Command. I use the number pad very frequently, and am more comfortable with it than the righthand side of the regular number keys. I've considered changing everything around so I use the number pad more often, but it would take a lot of retraining. Oh and another small point: I've been trying to train myself to use 8 9 0 for healing... but I've been using 9 for Consecration too much. Recently I had to change it back, because I can't seem to train myself to hit any other key. So in Scholomance, I was trying to Consecrate and kept hitting Flash Heal. Very confusing.

So as you can see, my keymaps are still a work in progress. Right now I only use the Gatherer and Atlas mods, though I would like to install Whispercast as well. Overall I'm pretty happy with the native UI (wasn't before, but am now). There are a lot of mods to add on "nice-to-have" things, but I haven't found the need to add any more mods born from "necessity," aside from those I mentioned. And truthfully, those I have now are there because I've become impatient and not because they're required.

Well what you *really* need...

...is a Mac, with it's lovely wide-screen display. :D!

I play on an iMac G4... the one that looks like desk lamp. Real estate is somewhat important, though I'd argue a non-laggy computer is much more important. I play a lot better when I'm on the computer at work. Everything actually runs smoothly, so I'm able to see and react to things in time... no hitting 77777 trying to get Blessing of Protection on someone... but it's laggy, so too late!

And if you want to talk real-estate, wait til Kriss posts his UI... remember now, he plays on a tiny little iBook. If you're lucky, he'll even open all his bags, and you can see how they take up most of the screen. ;)

Re: Esa UI

Ok, well I have been playing with a few mods. And by the looks of it, all I really need is a larger monitor. All the screenshots I see have more space to put the buttons on while not eating up more real estate. I'll have to break the new to Tina lightly. ;-)

But, I am happy with gypsymod. Eilers recommended it to me, and it has a few nice features. Like labelling the upper keys with what you need to hit. And highlighting the health bar in varying degrees of severity (this helps me remember to heal with Sigon).

Life is a game, play hard.
