As a general rule

We don't really approve of power-leveling. Especially if the player wants to raid/play with us, it really helps to play the character from 1-70. It's the only way to really learn your class, and at least get a basic understanding of how group play works.

Meh

oh definitely

i just thought it was a pretty funny read; seeing what someone went through just to get a free pass to level 50. seemed like it was waaaaaaay more stressful than enjoyable. i mean jeez, what's the point of playing this game if you don't want to actually play it!

Holy crap

That's a ton of emotional trauma to go through. It's like... Life and Death hinge on this character reaching 50!

Also, I wonder when this was written. 'cause now he could've just checked armory. and... chill. :)

Heehee

This is why my first toon still is hanging out in the mids, in fact just passed the 40 mark last week. I figure at this rate she'll hit 70 in 2012!! I can't wait to play a tree.. pewpew!!

wow

that's pretty eerie gnectar... i'm in the same boat! when i started playing WoW (the open beta), i made it to level 18 (which felt like i made it FAR) on a nightelf druid. the last thing i did (along with 100 or so other players) was do a mad dash for the barrens... the lag was so bad, when we finally got there, i saw some choppy frames of mass chaos, and then i was at the spirit healer. when the game officially launched a few weeks later, i of course created another nightelf druid, and was happily on my way...

fast forward to today, and that druid is at 51! i was actually in the low 40's for YEARS, but recently have been putting some sustained effort into it. the funny thing is, the reason my druid fell out of favor was simple: the original drunken penguins! yep, my druid was originally on another realm; but the call of the penguins was just too strong :) although it took me longer than my contemporaries (esa, kriss, aair, etc), my mage and then my priest eventually made it to 60; with poor neekolaus (my original druid) languishing in his 20's. hopefully, this time (with the significant boost in XP that quests now give) my efforts will not die off; and my longstanding goal will be achieved: 1 DPS, 1 Healer, and 1 Tank.

here's to 3.5 years of fun and counting :)

Poor Kros

He was character #2, probably created when Kriss was in his mid-40's. So this would be in April/May of 2005. Of course he just hit 70 this last weekend, but it took forever!

(Warriors are a pain to level)

Elanora ignored

yep... I too have a warrior listed as #2 on my Cenarius character sheet. Me n' Kriss must've made our warriors around the same time, so I guess we were 'short' on tanks at the time (haha they're both gnomes)

It's bothersome that I can't re-order the characters... I feel guilty when I scroll through her to log in #1 (esa) or #3 (elana). :/

...or i could just level her up too! (yeahright)

Me too...

It's June 2008 now. My hunter is level 46. WotLK comes out in another 6-8 months, wherein I need to level three 70 characters to 80. Following my normal leveling speed, I should hit level 80 on the hunter, oh... June 2014? Well, maybe January 2014 'cause y'know, nerf hunters. BUT! When it's all finally done? Time to make a death knight! :D
