Beer soup
Submitted by Fossa on September 22, 2006 - 2:29pmI mentioned beer soup on irc and folks were interested in the recipe. This is the customization of a recipe we found in a book.
Beer Soup

Opinions on a Burning Crusade Demo
Submitted by Fossa on July 25, 2006 - 10:38pmThis is part of my con report from San Diego Comic Con. I count myself lucky that I got a chance to watch and play Burning Crusade. On Saturday for part of the day, the booth was roped off and no one could play.
World of Warcraft: Blizzard had a small booth this year with six stations where you could play the Burning Crusade demo. I had to stand in line for a long time, but I got to play :)
The demo was limited to preconfigured characters: level 62 undead priest, tauren shaman and gnome rogue, then a handful of level 1 male and female blood elves and male draenei. Didn't see any of the cross faction classes, which I think weren't announced until Friday anyway. When a character was logged in, you always started back at the same configuration, in case someone had modded the buttons or used the items in the inventory.

The Penguin Ultimatum
Submitted by Fossa on May 18, 2006 - 7:47pmGot the latest Dork Tower tonight and there's an ad in the back for The Penguin Ultimatum a card game from Eight Foot Llama. The game sounds cute, but the website has even cuter 'penguin bowling' sets, with pics :) Too danged cute!

A Different Kind of Penguin
Submitted by Fossa on April 10, 2006 - 4:18pmCaught a preview for Happy Feet last night when we went to see Ice Age 2 (bleh, save your money). It's yet another 3d animated animal movie, this one about penguins in Antarctica. Big name cast for the voices and the penguin models do look cute.

A different kind of pirate
Submitted by Fossa on February 8, 2006 - 2:24pmI know a few other folks are into table top RPGs too...
Eden Studios is publishing Argh, Thar Be Zombies, zombie pirates! It's part of their All Flesh Must be Eaten line. I'm stoked, as I like pirates and AFMbE. I just wish the example art they show didn't look like it came straight out of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean.
